BEGEGNUNGEN – EIN STOLPERSTEINPROJEKT

Since 2015, the Stolperstein initiative has also been commemorating former Jewish citizens in Ulm. In many places in the city, the cubes laid on the sidewalk with the small brass plates provide information about the life and death dates of the Ulm residents who fled, were expelled and murdered.

In the Ulm Theatre's audio walk, those interested can 'meet' these Jews by taking a walk through the city and listening to the stories of six Jewish families, recorded by members of the acting ensemble and with original sounds by Michael Moos and Ms. Brandenburger, who give an abrupt account of then and now. Sometimes you shake your head at what you hear, sometimes you are completely drawn into the reality of life in Ulm 70 years ago, but there is also room for a more recent past and heroic helpers. Music and atmosphere accompany the audio walk through an Ulm of a bygone era. The starting and ending point of the approximately 1-hour city walk is the theater.
