25-year-old Sibel lives with her father and sister in a remote village in the Black Sea mountains of Turkey. Sibel has been mute since birth, but can communicate using the traditional whistling language of the region. Ostracized by the other villagers, she constantly hunts a wolf that is said to roam the neighbouring forest and triggers fears and fantasies in the women of the village. In the process, she meets a deserter. Wounded, threatened and vulnerable, he is the first to see her with different eyes.

Our new film series is dedicated to the mountains - majestic and threatening at the same time. Both large and small, the films tell of ascents and falls, of summit victories and failure. Sometimes a mountain has to be conquered, sometimes the path leads dangerously downhill, sometimes there is no turning back, sometimes there is only a detour all the way around. The mountains often symbolize inner conflicts, life crises or seemingly insurmountable obstacles. A series about the forces of nature, human ambition and the question of how far we will go to get up - or down again safely.
