Little Robbie (Asmara Feik as a motion-capture body double) dreams of becoming a star. At 16 (from now on: Jonno Davies), he is cast by music manager Nigel (Damon Herriman) as a member of the newly formed boy band Take That. The quintet hit the ground running, taking the charts by storm and soon performing in soccer stadiums. But this kind of fame is not what Robbie had hoped for. He is not allowed to write and sing his own songs. Instead, he is simply expected to look pretty while dancing to the songs of his bandmate Gary (Jake Simmance). Frustrated, the young man turns to drugs, alcohol and meaningless sex. But he overdoes it so much that he is fired from the group. Plagued by self-doubt, addictions and private catastrophes, he then faces a complete crash. He then realizes that he must finally summon up the courage and strength to face his own personal demons ...
