To celebrate the 25th anniversary of glatteis - die Krimibuchhandlung and to kick off the extensive program of the Munich Crime Festival in autumn, we invite the American author Sara Paretsky to present her latest book.

In Sara Paretsky's latest crime novel Wunder Punkt, private detective Victoria Iphigenia Warshawski takes on a complex case.

Five female students travel to Kansas for an away game. Their team wins and they celebrate. The next morning there are only four of them left. A college student has disappeared without a trace.

Warshawski is called in to solve the mystery - but what initially looks like a simple missing persons case soon develops into a multi-layered story full of dark secrets, political entanglements and deep social rifts. In a broken small town, she is confronted not only with personal challenges, but also with hidden truths, systematic cover-ups and abuse dating back to the American Civil War.

Paretsky combines classic hardboiled suspense with contemporary social issues such as racism and historical revisionism, all with a strong feminist voice.
