As the final volume in The Last King of Osten Ard series, the two-part The Children of the Sailor concludes the work about the former kitchen boy Simon, who eventually became a king.

The first part is about a legendary fortress, once home to an immortal people and now the capital of the Kingdom of Men, which is besieged by an ancient, mysterious power. While the humans defend themselves against the threat, the queen of the attackers pursues her own mysterious goals in the Valley of Mists.

In the second part, two unusual companions, a young prince and a renegade immortal, fall deeper and deeper into the secrets of the mystical valley. Their bond is put to the test when they encounter an ancient riddle - a riddle that started the war and could decide the fate of humans and immortals alike.
