WHAT IT'S ABOUT

A ruler tormented by feelings of guilt, power-hungry schemers, an oppressed people and a monk who literally "writes history": After the assassination of the legitimate heir to the throne, Dimitri, Boris Godunov comes to power as tsar. In his chronicle of Russian history, the monk Pimen names the ruler as Dimitri's murderer. Pimen's statements encourage the novice Grigori to pretend to be Dimitri, who had escaped the assassination attempt, and to lay claim to the throne. The ambitious Polish voivode's daughter Marina Mnischek supports him in his plan. While Boris wrestles with the shadows of the past, the boyars discuss measures against the new usurper. But in the end, the "false Dimitri" is crowned tsar.

DISCOUNTS

Pupils and students receive tickets in advance with a 50% discount. They can also obtain unsold remaining tickets at the Box Office shortly before the start of the performance at 15 euros per ticket for all seats, provided there is no other demand.

Trainees, the unemployed, Frankfurt Pass holders and participants in the Federal Volunteer Service also receive tickets at a 50% discount - even in advance.
