Bremerhaven through the decades (1930-1980) - film show from the state film archive
On November 6, 2025 at 7 p.m., Mirko Becker from the Bremen State Film Archive of the Senator for Children and Education will present rare amateur and advertising films from Bremerhaven - shot between the 1930s and 1980s on 8 to 35mm film.
The newly digitized recordings from the holdings of the State Film Archive tell of life in the seaside town in a very personal way: of everyday life, walks and special moments. They are complemented by historical advertising films that show how Bremerhaven presented itself in Germany and the world.
The result is an impressive cinematic panorama that brings the city's transformation over many decades to life - and provides a unique view of Bremerhaven in the past.
