Strange things are suddenly happening on earth. People are hanging strings with little lights everywhere, eating sweets until they feel sick and wrapping all kinds of things in colorful paper. The angel Bauz doesn't understand it all and asks God. "People are celebrating Christmas." Aha, but what is that? As Bauz is a boy angel and can't fly yet, God promises him wings if he finds out what Christmas is. In his search for an answer, the angel "plops" into different places and takes an answer back to heaven each time. But unfortunately he is not always quite right...

"How Angels Learn to Fly" is entertaining theater for children and adults, in which - quite incidentally - our culturally anchored customs and Christmas rituals are explained as having been invented by humans and differentiated from the actual meaning, the birth of Jesus.
