Based on the novel by Charlie Huston, the unconventional film tells the story of Hank Thompson (Butler), a former high-school baseball star who now tends bar in a gritty New York dive. When his eccentric neighbor Russ (Smith; TV's "The Crown") asks him to look after his cat, Hank is unexpectedly thrust into a dangerous world of gangsters and criminals - all of whom want something from him, but he doesn't know what. With his life on the line, Hank must rely on quick thinking and raw determination to escape a deadly trap that tightens around him with every passing day.
