In these times of overpowering 4-to-the-floor anthems, Chicken Jazz & Gumbo stand for a return to rugged instruments, groove and the raw beauty of the pentatonic. For the 32nd Rock & Blues Week, they are presenting their first EP with original folk-rock compositions, the highlights of which include a soulful "Ode to Laziness".
They also rummage through the mothballs of their favorite music and play everything they can get their hands on, from Lightnin' Hopkins to Leonard Cohen.
