For Christine Westermann, books are like a "window into someone else's life" (ROOF Music/Tacheles Hörbuch). Her own path into the world of books was full of hurdles - partly due to a family history full of fractures.
Curiosity about families is what drives her, she says: What do they fail at in loving and living, what ballast can they shed? Westermann will be reading from Die Familien der anderen (2022) at the Literaturherbst, as well as from her book about farewells, Manchmal ist es federleicht (2017), which talks about how courage can grow again from a loss. Christine Westermann is a radio and television journalist, presenter and bestselling author. She is best known for her cult show Zimmer frei!, which she presented with Götz Alsmann for 20 years. Her book podcasts on WDR are extremely popular.
