CHROM was founded in May 2007 by Christian Marquis and Thomas Winters after they had discovered their shared preference for banging, danceable yet melodic electro sounds after having known each other for many years. CHROM stands for an effective synthesis of synth pop, EBM and club electro, in other words: rich
beats, penetrating bass, which can also be really powerful, combined with catchy melodies. The debut album "Electroscope" was released in April 2010 on Fear Section, distributed by Out Of Line Music. In March 2012, CHROM released the second album "Synthetic Movement" on Out Of Line Music, on which the characteristic sound between club and electronic pop was further perfected. This was followed in 2016 by the 3rd studio album "Peak & Decay", which went straight into the Official German Album Charts. Thomas Winters left the band in 2022. Since then, frontman Christian Marquis has continued to lead the band alone and is supported live by Alexander Suttmer on keyboards. They are currently working on a new album, which has been announced for the end of 2025. The two singles "Paralysed" and "Agony" were released in 2024 and give a foretaste of the new album: more powerful and emotional than ever! Fresh and yet familiar! CHROM is back!!!
