Kapelle17 creates and embodies music that becomes something special through the close friendship of the musicians involved. A concert experience that is surprising, unconventional, inviting and captivating. The five members currently live in Berlin, New York, Cologne, Leipzig and Frankfurt. Originally from southern Germany, they met in Mannheim between 2014 and 2017 and have been forming this group together ever since.

The music of kapelle17 is reminiscent of underground hip-hop, experimental and psychedelic rock, pop music, fusion and free jazz, rhythmically complex avant-garde music and Brazilian jazz. The instruments, extended by flutes, percussion, synthesizers and effects, complete a well-rounded band sound that always sounds fresh, independent and self-confident.
