CocoonDance Company // Choreia - ein PolyBallett

Dance is given a voice. A mostly silent art form blossoms in the polyphony of the chorus. In CHOREIA, the CocoonDance Company creates forms of body, space and sound that are inspired by ballet traditions and ancient theater practice. From the choreographers who performed as a group in early Greece and accompanied the action on stage with song, dance and collective language. Most recently, the CocoonDance Company led by choreographer Rafaële Giovanola merged dancers and audience into a community in CHORA, in a space without boundaries. Rethinking networks of relationships and dissolving distances: That is the essence of her work, also in CHOREIA. Here, the voice itself becomes a gesture and extension of the body in order to touch with a strong resonance. After the premiere, the press raved about the "suggestive power" that the piece unfolds - "until the audience itself begins to sing." (Bonner General Anzeiger).

One hour before the performance, CocoonDance invites the audience to a practical choral introduction (approx. 30min) with choreographer Rafaële Giovanola.
