In the organizer's words:

The CocoonDance Company's Dream City dance project in 2019 described the vision of a city in which diverse identities can develop freely. The title was borrowed from Zadie Smith's essay "Speaking in Tongues", in which she describes her "dream city": "It is a polyphonic place where a unified, singular identity is illusory. (...) You have no choice but to cross borders and speak in tongues."
In Dream City, the dancers from CocoonDance met children and young people from the Junior Ensembles in Bonn and Monthey, urban and parkour artists and sound artist Franco Mento. In collaboration with Rafaële Giovanola, the Junior Company Bonn and diverse groups of Bonn citizens, Next Stop: Dream City is a lively "art form of exchange" that breaks new ground in choreographic work. The focus is on multifaceted movement qualities and body images that merge with each other in an open dialog that goes beyond classical dance aesthetics. Next Stop: Dream City invites you to an extraordinary encounter between art, movement and community.
