Reading and discussion with moderation by Dominik Wendland:
Venue: Projector, first floor
Fungirl is a young woman with no prospects who spends her days at home masturbating, eating take-away pizza and watching old sitcoms. She runs from one affair to the next and is uninhibited and extreme in everything she does. Her new job at a funeral home brings new chaos - her life is a succession of absurd, politically incorrect, slapstick situations. Her behavior is inappropriate, vulgar, opportunistic and yet - or precisely because of this - surprisingly human and charming. An ode to screw-ups with a heart of gold.
Elizabeth Pich ,* 1989 in Germany, grew up in the United States and studied communication design at the HBK Saar, where she later also worked as a lecturer. While still a student, she started the webcomic "War and Peas" together with Jonathan Kunz and the more than 500 episodes achieved international attention. Since 2014, she has also been working on her comic series Fungirl, which was published by Edition Moderne in 2024.
The event will be streamed live on Youtube.
