What exactly is a comic? What can a comic be? And how can stories be told with pictures?
In this workshop with comic artist Chiny Udeani, participants will explore the medium of comics in an experimental way. The focus will be on the diverse possibilities of combining image and text, the creative power of superimposition, multiple layers and the use of different visual languages.
Inspired by the works of Suzanne Treister, Marina Pinsky and others in the exhibition Comrade Sun, participants will create their own visual narratives - whether with the help of classic comic elements such as panels and speech bubbles or through the creative use of diagrams, poetry, news snippets, abstract forms or free drawings.
The workshop is aimed at anyone aged 16 and over who enjoys language and/or images and is keen to try out new forms of expression.
No previous knowledge of drawing or creative writing is required.
Free of charge
