Community Dance Projekt "Düren tanzt": ECHO

In the organizer's words:

In "ECHO", dancers from three generations explore their collective and personal memories. The stage becomes a space of remembrance in which the dancers weave a dense web of past, emotions and experiences through movement, text and visual elements. Objects with personal stories come to life and show the connection between past and present. The performance invites the audience to experience the power of remembrance anew and explores the themes of remembrance culture, visibility, diversity and participation.

In this dance evening, around 40 amateur dancers show how together they can create a power that transcends boundaries, is inspiring and unifying, and in which the uniqueness of each individual is a valuable component of community.

"Düren tanzt", which emerged from the successful "tanzwärts" project by Düren Kultur, is a cross-generational dance project supported by civic engagement. The project is aimed specifically at non-professionals who can experience and shape cultural participation.

"Everyone is a dancer". This sentence becomes reality here! The 3 choreographers work with the participants over 8 weeks to create a professional choreography to live music, encouraging them to improvise and create their own pieces.

Length: approx. 50 minutes
Admission: 10 minutes before the performance, free choice of seats
The venue is barrier-free.
