Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr

The hip-hop dance theater CRACKS, celebrated by audiences and the media, can be experienced with the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr, unique in Germany, and a gripping hip-hop choreography with contemporary dance elements on three consecutive days from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, each at 7.30 pm in the Ingolstadt City Theater.

For this impressively emotional dance theater piece full of spectacular and moving moments, choreographer Rauf Yasit, a sought-after star of hip hop culture and dancer who lives and works in Los Angeles, returns to the country where it all began for him. Together with the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr, he embarks on a search for traces: they resurrect the liberating cracks and dreams from childhood, ask about the stories that shaped the dancers' bodies and allow the present and past to meet in a tense dialog between childlike play and professional standards, naïve curiosity and flawless functionality.

CRACKS is a production of the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr by Pottporus in cooperation with PACT Zollverein and was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the New Arts Ruhr program and by the City of Herne.
