Ed Harley (Lance Henriksen) loses his son in a tragic accident for which one of his son's friends claims responsibility. In his despair and out of revenge, Ed turns to a witch who, at his request, awakens a monster called Pumpkinhead and hunts down the boy's friends. But Ed soon regrets his decision and starts trying to eliminate the monster.
