The sheer extreme!

"An album about "Unheimlich Nette Leute". The private sphere is always political. On their second album, Das Blanke Extrem capture this state of affairs as relevantly as if they were drawing a portrait of the state of Germany in 2021 with their eight new songs. They observe (themselves) closely, dissect these impressions with razor-sharp sarcasm, put their finger in the wounds of modern times and write an album that surpasses its melancholic, exuberant predecessor by a much darker, angrier and more sarcastic note in its lyrical content.
The songs have been given titles such as "Sprichwörtliches Geplänkel", "Zum goldenen Käfig" or "Filterblasen", as if they could channel the nonsense, tension and despair before they fray. Musically, the band drives their songs to a nervous spatiality and condensed frenzy. The post-punk colored guitars with more effects play around each other with feedback and jagged energy, the bass pushes incessantly, the drums act precisely like a restless pulse.
The songs are darker, heavier and more varied and therefore longer and more unpredictable, which effortlessly expands the band's sound towards post-punk. Recorded this spring. Relevant, thoughtful and clearly political. From Freiburg."
