Guitar and synths shimmer across the tape, washing 80s vibes onto the beach and big feelings back into the waves. Drums and bass give the season the beat and the wind a signal and Martin Schenk, frontman of the most gallant dandy band of the day, knows how to sing the whole thing beguilingly matter-of-factly. Meanwhile, the melodies of the three Augsburgers ripple along so carefree and the happiness so reliably into the glass that it's a joy. No question about it, this is kitsch at its finest, so casual and relaxed that you want to eat an ice cream cone while listening to it. And then press repeat again.

Drug Stop

The new band from Munich jack-of-all-trades Markus "Don Marco" Nägele spices up its 90s indie slacker rock with herbaceous, psychedelic ingredients, which touches on free-jazzy realms with horn interludes, but doesn't shy away from daring gospel choirs, feedback orgies or country moves.
