In the organizer's words:

It was supposed to be a weekend getaway for Laura (Paula Beer) and her boyfriend, but the trip in the red convertible ends in a crash on a country road. The boyfriend dies in the accident, but Laura remains almost unharmed. The elderly Betty (Barbara Auer), who witnessed the accident, takes Laura into her home like a daughter, where she lives with her husband Richard (Matthias Brandt) and her son Max (Enno Trebs). But the rural idyll is deceptive right from the start. The family struggles to come to terms with their own fate, which consists primarily of the early death of their own daughter. And the question arises: is Laura still alive or, like Nina Hoss in "Yella" (2007), already dead? A dead woman who experiences a kind of resurrection in a family mourning another dead woman? Director Christian Petzold's new film is a bright, fairytale-like summer story that could possibly turn into a horror movie.
