Sherlock Holmes and the curse of the Ashtonburrys

Have you received an invitation to the annual masquerade ball at Darkwood Castle? Congratulations and welcome to the noble highlight of the Scottish ball season, garnished with a delicious 4-course menu! The guest costume with the most extravagant mask will be awarded a prize!

The year is 1895 and Lady Augusta II, Marchioness of Orkney, is holding court. Everyone has come: Celebrities, artists, bohemians of all stripes, aristocrats, politicians, famous actresses, singers and adventurers who know how to disguise their debauchery and revelry behind sophisticated masks.

But two gentlemen from 221b Baker Street, better known as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, are also expected. However, the former has not yet arrived. However, the hostess fervently hopes that he will appear, especially as it was she herself who asked him for help.

Her husband, Edward, the XII. Lord Ashtonburry, is where he usually is: In London in the House of Lords or in his favorite secretive club, Diogenes. His wife Augusta feels neglected and now cultivates her passion for great companies and her secretary all the more devotedly.

But now the marquise is being blackmailed and the perpetrator is threatening to strike at the party. When a murder actually takes place during the course of the evening, it even seems that the Ashtonburrys' curse is about to be fulfilled once again. But what mask is death lurking behind? Or are supernatural forces at work here...?

Sherlock Holmes must decide, but: "When you have ruled out the impossible, what remains must be the truth - however improbable it may sound."
