DAS RATHAUS - LIEBE LEUTE

In the organizer's words:

The town hall - a place for the people, the heart of the community, the temple of democracy. In Würzburg City Hall, anonymous citizens A and B wait for their numbers to finally be called and for them to be let in for their appointment. The digital display has been showing 92 for some time now. A has drawn the number 54, B 112. It is not possible to determine whether the display is counting up or down - nothing is moving. Also in the town hall: a heartbroken registrar who is getting advice from the in-house Grafeneckart AI (GrEck-GPT) when writing her wedding speech and the woman with the dog, who has only become much lonelier since she got a dog.
When the electronic sliding doors of the town hall suddenly stop opening, the four lonely figures become a community of fate. What has actually brought them to the town hall? With what concerns and wishes do they turn to the state? What can we expect from the town hall, from politics, from the community?
And for a short time, it looks as if the direct exchange between people could create an awareness of shared fears and needs and re-establish the democratic community. But what will remain of this as soon as the town hall doors open again?
