An overnight happening in the Munich City Library with #MünchenIstKultur and many of the city's artists

The program for the little ones starts at 16:00 in the library. Offers for people aged 16 and over are available from 21:00. At the bottom of this page you will find films, installations and works of art that are not tied to a fixed time.

Halloween: the night of wandering souls and open portals. Munich: intellectual apocalypse, austerity diktat, cultural clear-cutting. Loosely based on the zombie classic Dawn of the Dead, #MünchenIstKultur takes refuge in the Motorama shopping center at the old Gasteig.

A library that is open all night. Gloomy corridors. Mysterious corners. A dance floor. Speed dates with art, culture and politics. With the people of this city. Live music. A nail studio. Performances. Readings. Non-stop movies. Beer from the bottle. Deep talk. Haunted escalators. Wild dances. Aldi Süd. Sweaty hands. A zombie flash mob.

Midnight. The lost voices of Munich's art and culture scene rise up. The ghosts of days gone by - against oblivion, against clear-cutting. Is the apocalypse approaching, or is the Prince Regent himself coming back to save Munich's culture?
A collective conjuring of ghosts by #MiK and young people from the youth clubs of the Münchner Kammerspiele. A performance involving all the above-ground and underground forces that the audience can muster.

#MiK Location

HOTEL DER HOFFNUNG: A refuge for lost souls

The Hotel of Hope is a rest, performance and exhibition space all in one. It will be open from 22:00 until the morning and is located in the basement by the main entrance, next to the stairs to the Holiday Inn.
Just have a quick rest or chat half the night away: If you check in here, you will find loungers and seating in a relaxed atmosphere. With a bit of luck, you'll end up in your best night of art and culture ever. We doze, read and discuss until the cleaning crew arrives in the morning. After a unique night in which we rebelled together and creatively against the dismantling of art and (socio)culture across sectors and institutions: People from municipal institutions, solo artists and activists, players from the independent scene and supporters.
