An event for teachers, students and professionals from the field

On November 04, 2025, the next DDC Salon NRW will take place in cooperation with the

Competence Center for Cultural & Creative Industries (KomKuK) of the state capital

Düsseldorf and the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (HSD), Department of Design.

Is design education still up to date? To what extent does design teaching address current

topics such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, environmental and climate issues?

social change or the dynamics of today's economy? What

what challenges do universities and teachers face? How much freedom

does design education need - and how much practical relevance is necessary? Which

skills do agencies and companies expect from young designers today?

The DDC Salon NRW explores these questions with keynote speeches by: Prof. Dr.

René Spitz (Rheinische Hochschule Köln), Prof. Felicitas Rohden & Prof. Jantje

Fleischhut (Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences), Janine Seggewiß (student at

Düsseldorf), Jürgen Adolph (KMS Team) and Prof. Martin Breuer (AMD

Düsseldorf). The subsequent panel discussion will be moderated by Judith

Rüther (FH Dortmund).
