In the old days, when wishing still helped, there lived a king whose daughters were all beautiful, but the youngest was so beautiful that the sun itself, which had seen so much, was astonished whenever it shone in her face....
When the youngest king's daughter's golden ball falls into a well while playing, a slippery frog of all things comes to her rescue. In order for him to fetch her beloved toy, however, she must promise to love him and share everything with him in friendship - a promise quickly and easily made. When the frog then appears in the castle, she regrets her words and finds it difficult to fulfill his wishes....
