Why were UN peacekeeping operations once so successful, and why does the international community hardly ever resort to this means of conflict resolution today? In her lecture, Sabrina Karim analyzes the political forces shaping the reorientation of UN peacekeeping operations and shows how a sustainable model of peacekeeping must be designed in order to do justice to the current geopolitical conditions.
Sabrina Karim is the second recipient of the Berthold Beitz Fellowship, which was initiated in 2024 by the Krupp Foundation and the American Academy in Berlin and focuses on economic and political history.
The lecture will be held in English.
