The Little Prince in an adapted version by Kris Köhler, based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupèry, is already the popular traditional play of the young K4 | Theater für Menschlichkeit.
The original opening play of K4 has been returning regularly to the stage of the Theater für Menschlichkeit since 2021. Our popular Advent program!
The pilot who has crashed his plane and the little prince meet in the middle of the desert. The little prince only asks "Draw me a sheep!". It soon turns out that the little prince comes from a small, distant planet. His journey led him to Earth, but before that he had searched for friends in the cosmos: he visited the lamplighter, the king, the vain orator, a businesswoman and a geographer. Only on earth can he make friends. A fox lets himself be tamed by him and confides a secret to him. Together with the pilot, the prince can laugh, dream and enjoy sunsets. And he realizes that he must return to his planet, because his unruly little friend - a rose - is waiting for him there...
The philosophical and poetic story of the little prince, who travels to all kinds of strange planets in search of friends, continues to fascinate viewers of all ages. The central theme of this thought-provoking and tender story of the little prince is the abolition of loneliness in friendship. In the parables of the rose and the fox, the little prince counters the rational view of adults, their possessiveness and their logic with the commandment of humanity. "You can only see well with your heart. The essentials are invisible to the eyes."
The play is intended to give hope and joy to people young and old. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the entire K4 family on stage.
