In literary Romanticism, it was quite fashionable to imagine that someone would be the last person left on an otherwise depopulated earth. Since then, the last man has been haunting literary history, lamenting his fate, watching the world go to seed, enjoying boundless freedom or simply trying to survive. What fascinates people about this scenario? And how would we behave? From texts by Mary Shelley, Herbert Rosendorfer, Marlen Haushofer, George Stewart and many others, this collage creates a polyphonic choir of the most radical soloists who sing us the song of the day after the end of the world.
