In the organizer's words:

The LZG reading group meets once per program period and discusses a work of contemporary German-language literature in a relaxed atmosphere. We would like to offer our reading-loving members a space in which literature can be discovered and discussed together. The reading circle is moderated by board member Sandra Binnert and accompanied by a team member from the Literary Center. This free offer is aimed exclusively at LZG members, registration is required.

There is a special innovation in this program period: for the first time, the title that will be read in the reading circle remains uncertain for the time being. If you want to join in the excitement, you should make a note of September 16 - this is the day on which the jury will publish this year's shortlist for the German Book Prize and thus provide an initial preview. The final decision will be made when the winner is announced at the start of the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 13.

We will, of course, inform you in good time via our channels about which book has been named Novel of the Year 2025 and will therefore be discussed and debated in the reading circle. Stay tuned and look forward to a literary surprise!
