DER MELANCHOLISCHE MITTWOCH

"The Melancholic Wednesday" will take place every third Wednesday from October 15, 2025 from 5:30 pm in the WERK°STADT. This is THE after-work party for music loversoutside the mainstream. You can look forward to everything between shoegaze, indie, gothic and pop. Here you can get the best out of your after-work time. Come along, enjoy the music, meet old and new friends for a chat. If you like, have one, two or three beers or a spritzer. Dancing is also allowed.

DJ Christian Brinkmann will sweeten your evening with a lot of well-known but long-unheard tunes. There will also be a few standards and a few insider tips, things that are danceable and world-famous. He prefers not to choose a band's best-known song, but rather one of the other good singles that are often neglected. Rather than "Blue Monday" or "Don't You (forget about me)", he prefers "Regret" or "Waterfront". As always, exceptions prove the rule. His choice of music is mainly from the years 1965-2015 and often has a British accent. From the Beatles to Slowdive to My Bloody Valentine in just over 10 minutes, back via Interpol, Felt, The Smiths and Bauhaus directly to the Kinks... or something completely different. There's also the route via Oasis, Suede to Propaganda and the Talking Heads.

Melancholic Wednesday is a dance event, but also sees itself as a meeting point and place of exchange between music enthusiasts.
