Once a month, the heroes of the German-language slam scene meet on stage in Kiel, where they vie for the audience's favor with self-written texts - the applause alone decides. The contributions are diverse, from serious to rhymed, from narrative to comic - there are no limits to the art, apart from a time limit of six minutes. Slam guru Björn Högsdal moderates the showdown of the best poets in Germany, who come from far and wide. Since 1999, the Original Kiel Poetry Slam has been the most important slam in Schleswig-Holstein and even the seventh oldest slam in Germany.
