Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie & Louis Zhang - Divertimento

Germany's youngest top orchestra and 10-year-old pianist Louis Zhang perform works by J.S. Bach and W.A. Mozart, among others, under the direction of Wolfgang Hentrich.

The youngest among them are just eleven years old, at twenty they are already among the "old" here - and yet they are already playing on major international stages and at festivals such as the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein and the Cologne Philharmonie, the Grand Auditorium in Luxembourg and the Alte Oper Frankfurt, at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and at Young Euro Classic, the festival of the world's best youth orchestras in Berlin. The orchestra members of the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie regularly impress audiences and the specialist press alike with the high quality and excellence of their playing. The youngest national selection orchestra is a winner of the prestigious Würth Prize of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland and regularly delights audiences with its uniquely differentiated string sound and its collective dedication to music.

Only ten years old - and already a pro on the keys! Louis Zhang received his first piano lessons from pianist Viera Fischer at the age of four. He regularly takes part in the "Music Holidays at Lake Starnberg", where musically talented children and young people receive particularly intensive support under the patronage of renowned violinist Julia Fischer. Last year, he performed with the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie under the direction of chief conductor Wolfgang Hentrich in the Starnberg Schlosshalle. This year, he will be demonstrating his impressive talent with Johann Sebastian Bach's Piano Concerto in D minor. The concert on July 16 has the promising title Divertimento.
