German Competition I
UNDER PRESSURE
AI shifts perspectives, scatters doubt. Rituals and constraints of work become visible, criticism of artistic practice and capitalism meets questions of power. The films open our eyes to structures, perceptions and what happens in and to our environment.
AI shifts perspectives and sows doubt. Rituals and constraints inherent in work become visible, and the criticism of artistic practice and capitalism is met with questions of power. These films open our eyes to structures, sensations, and what happens in and with our environment.
The competition is the largest section and the heart of the festival. Every year, a team of five curators sifts through a huge number of the latest films under 45 minutes that were made in Germany or with German production participation in order to put together a balanced and heterogeneous program for our audience. Neither themes nor genres limit the selection.
In addition to the awarding of three prizes by an expert jury, the audience can also vote for the Audience Award.

A selection of the films will be screened in barrier-free versions in the KFFK+ program
This competition is the biggest section and the centerpiece of the festival. Neither themes nor genres restrict this process.
ALL FILMS NOT IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WILL BE SCREENED WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.
