On July 20, 1969, millions of people around the world gathered in front of their screens to witness a historic moment: the first moon landing. With the words "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind", Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the surface of the moon.

The world celebrated this gigantic success - but few knew how enormous the efforts were that led to this moment. Behind the Apollo 11 astronauts were almost 400,000 people who had worked for over a decade to achieve this goal.
