CORRECTIV is the first non-profit research center in Germany. Founder and publisher David Schraven tells the story of "Correctiv" in his book "The CORRECTIV Story". It tells the story of how courage and trust led to the creation of a media company oriented towards the common good, which today sets standards with investigative journalism, fact checks and media education.
But what makes it so special? Why was it created in the Ruhr region?
Why does it not fit into any pigeonhole? Why does CORRECTIV combine journalism with media education, art and youth work? What drives the people behind CORRECTIV? Why is it so important that - to paraphrase Joseph Beuys - anyone can be a journalist?
David Schraven, founder and publisher of CORRECTIV, tells the story of a media company that was founded 10 years ago with seven like-minded people and now employs 180 people. It is aimed at people interested in the media, democrats, journalists and anyone who wants to understand how investigative journalism works in Germany - and why it is more important today than ever.
