The Flintstones feat. Mel Robb
Light: Jörg Rost
On November 15, there will be an extraordinary concert in a special light in the Sölde Protestant Church. The Bochum-based indie folk band "Die Feuersteins", the Irish singer and harpist Mel Robb and the light artist Jörg Rost from Schwerte will present a musical and poetic evening in an interplay of sound and light.
The Feuersteins
On the pulse of the times and firmly rooted in musical tradition, in other words "simply good music" for those looking for a catchy advertising label. Daughter Emily and father Guntmar Feuerstein from Bochum take the fact that they don't fit into any category as a compliment. Because it is precisely this fascinating mix of folk, pop, indie, country and singer-songwriter art that characterizes the Feuersteins' concerts. In addition to lively and danceable instrumental pieces, strong melodies and driving rhythms, it is always the impressively contemporary lyrics that find their way into the hearts of the audience in a sensitive and touching, engagingly challenging or simply poetically beautiful way. The Feuersteins draw on traditional roots, modern beats and personal stories. The result is credible and appealing music for the present, straight from the cultural melting pot that is the Ruhr region. High expressiveness and great musical competence: simply good music!
Mel Robb
is an experienced Irish folk musician whose expressive singing and atmospheric harp playing
and atmospheric harp playing has been captivating audiences for over two decades. Blending the timeless sounds of the Celtic Heartlands with contemporary folk influences, Mel weaves songs and melodies that incorporate both tradition and new perspectives. Equally at home on the Irish folk harp and the bodhrán, she brings depth and rhythm to every performance - whether she's performing a centuries-old ballad or a modern folk song. Formerly based in the South West of Ireland, she has performed throughout the region and beyond, including tours in Europe and Asia, notably Thailand. Mel has played in a number of folk bands over the years and is known for her warm connection with audiences and her ability to take listeners on a musical journey through song, tradition and storytelling.
