In the organizer's words:

Domestic violence against women and girls is part of normality for far too many people. Protagonist Paula tells of her everyday hell in robust everyday language on a minimalistically designed stage.

At 39, most of Paula's life is already over. In her monologue, she talks about her great love, her husband Karl, who beat her up for years, her four children and her escape into alcohol. It is the story of a woman who takes her life into her own hands despite all the adversities and humiliations.

Far removed from sentimentality or moralizing, this moving story tells of a disappointed love and the tireless attempt to get a grip on life through her own efforts.

Ages 16 and up.

The theater performance takes place as the closing event of Orange Days 2025 and in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Hanseatic City of Stade.
