The terrible five
(written and illustrated by Wolf Erlbruch, published by Peter Hammer Verlag)
A musical stage production - initiated by the Armin T. Wegner Gesellschaft, written by Kris Köhler and developed at the K4 Theater für Menschlichkeit, music composed and recorded by the band Fortschrott!
A creepy crew meets in the shadow of an old bridge: It's the terrible five! What brings them together, however, are not sinister plans; they are heartbroken because nobody likes them. They want to change that - and forge a plan.
A Wuppertal project through and through. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
Press reviews of the K4 play:
"A little gem." "As impressive as the visuals of the animals were, the production handled the effects with great care." "Great fun." Westdeutsche Zeitung, 2023
"Great for children - and older people" "An all-round successful interplay of Wuppertal actors that received enthusiastic applause." "...recommended for everyone aged 4 and over [...] There's nothing to stop adults from watching this sweet play with its likeable actors and great costumes - quite the opposite!", Wuppertaler Rundschau, 2022
Press reviews of the book:
"One of the funniest and most original publications of the picture book season." Süddeutsche Zeitung
"These are loving grotesques that can elicit beautiful shivers from children, awakening sympathy for the creatures on the night side of nature. A picture book that's fun without being pandering." German General Sunday Journal
