Big Daddy is dying. He has cancer, but is still unaware of his diagnosis. Once again, the family gathers for his 65th birthday. One more time they play at being a perfect world. But behind the scenes, the battle for the inheritance of his father's company has long been in full swing.

Gooper, the eldest son, a successful lawyer, thinks he has the best chance. But he realizes that he is still overshadowed by his little brother Brick, Big Daddy's favourite son. Although Brick has no thoughts of becoming his father's successor - since the death of his best friend, he has been drowning his world-weariness in alcohol. Margaret, Brick's wife, comes from a humble background and knows what it takes to make it to the top. Margaret isn't the "cat on a hot tin roof" for nothing - she will get her claws out.
