"Die Klimaretter - haben wir noch eine Chance?" Part 2 • Dokumentationsfilm & World Café

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen, together with "Waiblingen Klimaneutral", invites you to an open film and discussion evening. The second part of the ARD documentary "Die Klimaretter - haben wir noch eine Chance?" by Thomas Aders will be shown. Afterwards, SWR editor Joachim Bräuninger and experts from Waiblingen Klimaneutral will moderate a World Café - a discussion format in which everyone can have their say and there is room for different points of view.

The film shows people around the world who are not accepting climate change: Women in Darfur who plant acacia trees, researchers in Indonesia, engineers in Europe. Their stories are encouraging and show that climate protection is not a question of doing without, but of shaping the future.

The subsequent World Café will focus on questions that are on many people's minds:
How does the topic of climate change actually feel - does it scare us or give us hope?
What can we do in our everyday lives without being overwhelmed?
What does Waiblingen need so that climate protection does not divide, but unites?
And what should our city look like in 2035 if we change something together?

This is how information becomes discussion and concern becomes creative power. "Climate protection is not an imposition, but an opportunity," say the organizers. The evening aims to encourage people to listen, talk to each other and see the future as a shared task.
