Founded in 1993 as a school band, the ensemble has developed into a modern, versatile ensemble over the years. Students from a wide range of disciplines play here with passion, enthusiasm and musical sophistication - from classic swing and funky grooves to their own big band literature.
Let's Funk - a concert that is not only heard, but felt.

Yuniet Lombida Prieto & Evgenij Zelikman

Yuniet Lombida Prieto combines Latin American energy with a classic big band sound, has international stage experience and is deeply rooted in jazz and improvisation. In the course of his extraordinary career, he has worked with world stars such as Issac Delgado and Alain Pérez and was awarded a GRAMMY® for his work on Aymée Nuviola's album.

Evgenij Zelikman is a pianist, composer, arranger and leader of his own big band projects active in Germany. He founded the big band orchestra "Oumuamua" in 2019, which is characterized by independent compositions and an open, creative jazz approach. His musical language combines classical influences with contemporary jazz elements and sensitive improvisation.

Together, Yuniet and Evgenij stand for an evening full of rhythm, precision, expression and unforgettable big band moments.
