Miriam (Tomomi Themann) temporarily moves in with her friend Ida (Emilia Maier) and attends the Winterstein School with her, unaware that a magical community exists there. On the very first day, she unexpectedly receives the magical animal Fitzgeraldo, a lively leprechaun (voice: Daniel Zillmann), while classmate Max (Thilo Fridolin Matthes) gets the clever owl Muriel (voice: Annett Louisan). When Ida learns that the school is to be closed, the class bets everything on a decisive school challenge. Miriam finds herself in an emotional conflict because her old school, including her former classmate Torben (Philip Müller), who once ostracized her, is also taking part. Under increasing pressure, she has to make a decision: For her new class or for her past. A race against time begins to save the Winterstein School and its magical animals.
