DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE. THE OPERA BUT NOT THE OPERA

Music and love can heal the world, are magical powers against the forces of darkness - this is the sublime message of one of the most beautiful operas in the world, the immortal "Magic Flute". A small, wildly determined theater troupe now has the audacious plan to bring this masterpiece to their stage: with little money and personnel, but with a lot of imagination, wit, improvisation skills and a very unique musicality. The ensemble cheekily frees the somewhat dusty opera characters from false pathos - and we meet people with modern-day longings and needs who nevertheless retain their fairytale aura: the good-natured but slightly maudlin Prince Tamino, full of desire for great emotions. His fun-loving, impulse-driven bird friend Papageno, who can't get his emotions in order. The resolute, passionately loving Pamina, who is also confused in her soul and has a problem with her mother. The self-assured Prince Sarastro and the angry Queen of the Night, who is deeply wounded in her heart and who both fight their power struggles on the backs of the younger generation. These inwardly lonely figures search for love in a mysteriously threatening outside world. Carried by heart-wrenching music, they master the balancing act between comedy and tragedy with ease.
