Different ways of being in & Walking away from an explosion in slow

In the organizer's words:

A double bill by and with Zina Vaessen, Selina Koch, Chelsea Reichert, Alice Gartenschläger and Ingo Keil

Walking away from an explosion in slow motion - danced by Selina Koch - focuses on the motif of shock and aftershocks. The piece deals with the echoes of explosions in the body and the physical experience of the present being torn apart. Detached movements haunt the body, disappear and reappear unexpectedly. The attack of a monster is expected in the future, although it has already been there for a long time.

The second piece Different ways of being in - a duet with Chelsea Reichert and Zina Vaessen - experimentally investigates whether it is possible to immerse oneself in changing physical and emotional states, as if life were an edited film or a collage of magazine images. Here, dance appears as a form of expression that is able to take on the experience of the constant emotional ups and downs in life or in dreams by physically capturing the fleeting feelings and making them tangible.

Both pieces revolve around the relationship between continuity and rupture, difference and repetition, surreality and reality. What remains when everything is in motion? What returns? The focus is on the body as a space of memory in which experiences are inscribed and which can be a memory for emotional states that change every second. The stage becomes a kaleidoscope in which three women show the ghostly beauty of the remembering body, which has the ability to dream with its eyes open.
