Digitaler Zwilling gesucht – Wie Bauwerke leben lernen

In the organizer's words:

Presented by the Department of Construction and Environment at Mainz University of Applied Sciences

From October 28 to November 4, 2025, the LUX Pavilion at Mainz University of Applied Sciences will once again be a meeting place for anyone interested in sustainable solutions in construction, energy and infrastructure. BAU meets LUX combines specialist events, research insights and exchange formats - interdisciplinary, practical and with a view to a sustainable built environment.

The exhibition "Digital Twin Wanted - How Buildings Learn to Live" provides the framework. Using a digital twin of the LUX Pavilion, which the Department of Building and Environment has developed over the past few months, we will show examples of how buildings can be documented, analyzed and intelligently monitored during operation using digital models. The exhibition provides practical insights into current research and transfer projects - and invites visitors to discuss the opportunities of digitalization in the construction industry.

The event program addresses key future topics relating to the sustainable transformation of the construction industry: It ranges from digital planning processes and building information modeling to energy efficiency and sustainable heat supply to research and transfer impulses from the university. Specialist events such as the BACtwin conference or the Cold Grids Day offer space for exchange between science, practice and politics - and provide impetus for a resource-conserving built environment.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge and without registration. All events are listed separately here. Registration is also possible there if places are still available.
