Dinner Central: Mikro, Makro, Aggro

A dinner about feminism in the 21st century - on November 13, 2025 - Central Brücke

In hardly any other European country do tradition, religion and social change collide as violently as in Poland. The massive women's protests ("Strajk Kobiet") of recent years have shown that feminism is not only a question of equal rights, but also of self-determination and democracy. As part of the "Freedom is the Woman" festival, the Polish Institute Düsseldorf and the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus invite you to a special dinner. We would like to discuss "Feminism today" - with Poland as an example of the dynamics and cultural struggle that characterize this topic in the 21st century. Together with guests from politics, art and activism, three perspectives on the topic will be opened up: Macro - the big socio-political picture, Micro - personal experiences and artistic practice, and Aggro - activism and new forms of resistance. Guests include Joanna Szymańska-Bica (SPD Women Aachen and Polish Social Council NRW), Sandra Zawada (musician) and participants of the "Queerowy Klub Köln" project. - The event is a cooperation with the Polish Institute Düsseldorf as part of the festival: Polish Freedom Weekend 2025 - "Freedom is a woman".
