Dirk Brömmel: Schwimmende Märkte

In the organizer's words:

The German artist Dirk Brömmel, master student of Prof. Dr. Vladimir Spacek, Academy Mainz, and multiple international award-winning photo artist, will be presented for the first time in our exhibition in the Ruhr area.

Selected works from his thematic group "Floating Markets", created in Bangkok in 2012, will be on display. He takes a bird's eye view of Bangkok's floating markets and digitally recomposes them from many individual images and sets them against monochrome or color-striped backgrounds. With a good 60 individual images, he captures the passing boats in their entirety. The photographer assembles these documents into a single image on the computer. He exposes the bodies of the boats and replaces the water surface with new backgrounds. This creates a new image that allows us to discover more than would be possible for the human eye under real conditions.the floating markets are elevated to essential protagonists.Dirk Brömmel achieves this through perspective and the stretching of time.
